Capacity
Shaft Ø (mm)
Description
Broach internal hexagon profiles on a lathe with a C axis, a machining center or a slotting machine with a C axis.
A pilot hole is needed prior to broaching a hexagon profile. The pilot hole needs to be 2% larger than the internal diameter of the hexagon. The formula: pilot hole diameter = distance between two parallel sides of hexagon x 1.02
How to Select the Right Hexagon Broaching Holder: 1- Every insert can broach a range of hexagon sizes. E.g. IN-HEX-9/11 can broach hexagons from 9mm to 11mm in size. 2- Every insert goes with the matching holder. E.g. IN-HEX-9/11 insert fits the holder UT-HEX-9/11 3- Select shaft diameter of holder. Ø25 mm and Ø32 mm shafts are available.
